The French fashion house is releasing new images from its archive
Lanvin is a very impressive 125 years old this year, and is in the mood to celebrate.
The high fashion brand, which describes itself as the oldest French fashion house still in activity, was started way back in 1889 by Jeanne Lanvin. To mark it's mammoth birthday, Lanvin is releasing never-seen-before archive material across its website and Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook pages.
Lanvin, which has also changed its logo to mark its anniversary, will post pictures from its past every Thursday, from images of Jeanne Lanvin's beautifully preserved office in Paris, to moodboards charting the evolution of the label.
In the 125 years since Jeanne Lanvin first started designing fashion for French ladies, Lanvin has enjoyed much success. Since 2001 it has been under the watchful eye and creative hand of Alber Elbaz, who has reinvented the brand. The number of celebrities still wearing Lanvin on the red carpet, and its very well-attended catwalk shows, proves that this is one label that isn't going anywhere.
WWD also reports that Lanvin is working on an exhibition to take place in 2015.
