InStyle's fashion team gives us the lowdown on the labels to watch out for...
Already a firm favourite in the footwear world, Jerome C. Rousseau is our shoe label to love this season, as we mark the release of its AW13 collection.
Launched in 2008, designer Jerome finessed his design skills for ten years in London and LA, where he worked alongside the likes of Matthew Williamson, John Richmond and John Rocha, having previous studied at London's Cordwainers College. With every delicate shoe expertly handcrafted in Italy, it's no wonder his distinctive creations are loved by industry insiders and celebrities alike, with fans including Scarlett Johansson, Kristen Stewart, Olivia Wilde, Miranda Kerr and more.
And now we celebrate the launch of the brand's Autumn Winter 2013 collection, a line inspired by Italian photographer Alberto Seveso's a due Colori - a series of hi-speed photographs of underwater ink drops. The brightly coloured plumes create unexpected volumes, which influence the silhouette and palette of both the shoe and handbag collections. These images are also translated through rich plays of textures and prints such as velvet and suede contrasted with patent leather, mirror leather and glitter.
If you make one footwear investment this season - this has to be it. NL
