The actress is to follow in Keira Knightley's footsteps to become a new face of the brand
Kristen Stewart has cemented her status as one of Hollywood's most stylish stars with the news that she is to become the new face of Chanel.
The 23-year-old actress will front the upcoming campaign for 2013/14 Métiers d’Art Paris-Dallas collection, which was unveiled at a celeb-studded show last night in the Texan city.
Kristen joined Karl Lagerfeld to watch the spectacular show, dressed in her signature crop-top and high-waisted trouser combo. Meanwhile, on the catwalk, cowboys and girls were given a Chanel makeover, as models came down the catwalk dressed in fringed skirts, top-to-toe denim, and, of course, stetsons.
We'll get to see Kristen in the collection in May 2014, when the campaign (which will be shot by Karl Lagerfeld himself) is released to the press.
Before the show, guests - including Alexa Chung, Poppy Delevigne and Dakota Fanning - were shown into classic cars to watch a new film directed by Lagerfeld about Chanel's comeback in 1954.
The 20-minute movie, starring Geraldine Chaplin Rupert Everett and Amanda Harlech, remembered how America's fashion press supported Chanel during her return to fashion, in particular the Dallas-based department store Neiman Marcus. It was for this reason Karl Lagerfeld chose The Texan city as the destination for his annual Chanel Métiers d'Art show. And we pleased he did, because it looked amazing.
We can't wait to see Kristen model the collection...
