Katherine Hamnett has always flown the flag for ethical stylish fashion and now the designer is lending her expertise to beachwear. And just in time for our Summer hols!
This week the designer unveiled a new ‘Save the Sea’ capsule range in collaboration with Yoox.com’s eco initiative YooxGen.
Save the Sea is a 14-piece collection including super-cute playsuits, Save the Sea T-Shirts and beach bags inspired by 1950s beach glamour. Each item is made from organic or sustainable fabrics with the minimum amount of recyclable polyester and runs from £69 for a canvas bag to £128 for a swimsuit.
A percentage of the proceeds are being donated to Fashioning a Better Future, Katherine’s charity for West Africa, which means it’s also guilt free!
“I have called this collection Save the Sea as it’s dying due to the impact of human activities,” said Hamnett. “It’s important as consumers and voters that we all know the facts, so that we can do what is needed to save it. Take action you can make the difference.”
Indeed. Go Katherine!
