For Kate Moss's first London Fashion Week appearance she made a sneaky entrance into the Topshop Unique show…
Amidst the noise and excitement at the Topshop Unique show at London Fashion Week the savviest of fashion journos could be forgiven for missing a trick or two. As the paps went wild for the likes of Alexa Chung, Leigh Lezark and Olivia Palermo (both clad in Topshop treats), quiche and pecan pie was scoffed, champagne quaffed and the fash pack indulged in gossip galore... Who would have guessed that Kate Moss had snuck in totally unnoticed?
But arrive Kate did. As the show got off to a grungy start with a collection of 70s West Coast American pieces, a sudden gasp came from the crowd. It seemed we'd all been had. Kate Moss had performed nothing short of a miracle as she'd quietly made her way into the front row without even a murmur.
As the models strutted to the likes of Nirvana in sexy sport clad clothing Moss chatted away gaily with Chloe Green (Phillip Green's daughter) while admiring the criss-cross cut-out swimsuits and languid maxidresses.
It's not the first time Moss has made an impromptu appearance at Unique; back in 2006 ahead of her own Topshop collection launch Kate was all smiles as she accompanied Sir Phillip Green to the S/S 2007 show causing a media frenzy. And now, three years on Kate was back on Topshop turf wearing a wide brimmed fedora, micro mini shorts and oriental style jacket - a classic Kate combo.
As the show wrapped and the last leggy model teetered off backstage the tension reached dizzying heights as paps pounced to attention. Whether Kate was to make it out alive or not was highly questionable but keep Topshop on top she certainly does.
