Kate Bosworth is taking her love for fashion to the next level – by launching her own fashion app.
Called Style Thief, the app allows users to take a photo of an item of clothing they like – whether it's on the back of a friend or in the pages of a magazine – conduct an image search and then buy it. All with just a couple of swipes of a smartphone.
Using the tagline 'snap and steal', the app, which launches in the UK in 60 days, will no doubt appeal to anyone who constantly sees their perfect item – but always on someone else, with no idea where it's from.
'Everyone has fashion envy,' Bosworth told WWD about her reasons for building the app.
''Everyone can relate to that feeling of looking at an editorial, for example — or a friend, or the runway, for that matter — wanting to steal something exactly as you’re seeing it, or something similar,' the actress continued.
So whose style does Kate want to 'snap and steal'?
'Cate Blanchett, I think, has incredible style. Just as an overall being, she’s wonderfully impressive — as an actress, as a mom, as a wife, as someone very fashionable in the world and strong and savvy. Julianne Moore, I like, too. I just worked with her [in “Still Alice”] and she’s an extraordinary woman. I like Alexa Chung’s style. Anyone who feels like they have a solid grasp on who they are and are confident in who they are and have an element of experimentation, that’s something I’m intrigued with.'
Yep, we'd heartily agree with all those choices. But then, we always knew Ms Bosworth had great taste…
