John Rocha Bids Farewell To London Fashion Week

The 58-year-old designer has announced his retirement from LFW

After 29 years on the London Fashion Week schedule, John Rocha has decided it's time to bid adieu to the catwalk.

Born in Hong Kong and based in Ireland, John Rocha has said he wants to focus on things other than his eponymous fashion label from now on.

'It has been an amazing journey for me, one for which I am truly grateful, grateful for the opportunity to present my vision and to follow my dreams,' said the 58-year-old in a statement.

'But now it is time for me to explore new challenges. And so I have decided that from September, I will no longer present a collection at London Fashion Week, and that even though I am so happy with the wonderful response to my AW14 collection, sadly it will be my last.'

Although the John Rocha ready-to-wear line will no longer exist, the brand will continue to design collections for Debenhams, as well as Specsavers and Waterford Crystal.

But the Rocha name won't disappear from London Fashion Week completely. John's daughter, Simone Rocha, whose catwalk show has become one of the hottest tickets each season, will make sure of that…
