Having adorned the feet of Hollywood’s finest for years, fashion’s iconic entrepreneur Tamara Mellon was recognised for her outstanding services to fashion yesterday, as she received an OBE from the Queen!
Wowing the crowds gathered outside Buckingham Palace, Tamara donned a black and white polka dot Dolce and Gabbana dress, Fedora hat, fur snood and a frame crocodile skin bag - with a gleaming new medal to complete the look!
'I am so thrilled to be receiving this great honour and to be recognised in this way. I am grateful to everyone at Jimmy Choo - and our customers around the globe - for helping make our success possible,’ Tamara proudly told the gathered press.
‘While our brand has global reach, the roots and heritage of Jimmy Choo are uniquely British so I am especially pleased and proud of this honour.'
It’s been a highly successful week for Tamara, as she also took home the Enduring Vision prize for Jimmy Choo’s phenomenal fundraising efforts at Elton John’s AIDS Foundation on Monday.
Tamara began Jimmy Choo with a small loan from her father, and since has led the leading shoe brand into world style domination, with a total of 115 stores worldwide in 39 countries!
We're thrilled to see fashion’s leading lady receive recognition for her outstanding contributions to style - so it's a big congratulations from us too Tamara!
