The designer announced via Twitter today that he's the new creative director for Moschino...

Jeremy Scott is the talk of Twitter today as the young designer has been announced as the new creative director of Moschino.

The announcement came via Twitter this morning and has been met with heaps of praise from both the fashion and the showbiz industries, with celebrities sending their messages of congratulations. In fact, Jeremy has received so many messages of support that his name is now trending on Twitter.

Perez Hilton tweeted: 'Congrats, Jerbear!!!!!!!! I think this means you should move to NYC! Closer to Italy!!! #Moschino.'

Jeremy replied: 'AHHHH THANKS PEREZ !!! YOU DO HAVE A POINT ! X.'

Kylie Minogue also shared her excitement, posting the message: '@ITSJEREMYSCOTT & @Moschinofficial WOW! congrats!'

Pixie Geldof, Miley Cyrus, Nicky Hilton, Rita Ora and Eli Roth have all tweeted messages of congratulations.

Jeremy's rise to success is so inspiring, as he started out as an intern at the brand. He told Style.com today: 'It’s kind of a fairy-tale story. I was the [Moschino] intern, and now I’m running the company.'

He added: 'For me, one of the key elements of Moschino is humour. It’s one of the few houses that has humour, and it’s the same thing for me. Another one of the bonding elements is their written messages that express thoughts and twist ideas. We share an obsession with poking fun at fashion. Whimsy, also.'

Jeremy, who's worked with Adidas and a whole host of celebrity names, will kick off his role as creative director with the AW14 collection, which will debut at Milan Fashion Week. And he's already working on it. The designer told The LA Times that he's heading to Milan this coming Sunday to work on his first collection.

Roll on February!
