Jean Paul Gaultier gets his party hat on

The designer teams up with Elton John and Grey Goose to host the ultimate cocktail party

Fashion and parties seem to go hand-in-hand, which is why we're especially excited that uber-designer Jean Paul Gaultier is joining forces with Grey Goose vodka, one of our favourite tipples, to host the Grey Goose Character and Cocktails winter ball alongside Elton John and David Furnish on Saturday 30 October.

For the event, tipped to be THE bash of the year, the designer is unleashing his creative side on the American Embassy in London to create the enchanting Grey Goose Maison de Mode – where everything, from the cocktails to the auction slots have been approved by his expert eye. "It will be a mix of big projections, going on one story from the outside, coming inside, turning," the designer said. "So it's really a little science fiction, a little surrealism, a little dream in reality."

The lavish soiree will also include an auction, where one of the hottest slots will be JPG’s bespoke bar ‘Le Bar’ (pictured), modelled on his iconic male and female-shaped perfume bottles. The coutourier exclusively revealed to InStyle what he draws inspiration from, be it for a project like this or for his latest designer collection: "We always use 'creative' to describe artists. But in reality it's not artists, we have to capture needs, desires, and dreams and bring it to the clothes. But that is by hearing well, smelling. It's all these things that make us arrive at that point."

To complete the night’s mesmeric experience, a range of indulgent French delicatessen, prepared by A-Class chef Marcus Wareing, will be available to the joy of the food gourmets, followed by a live performance by chart-topping Lily Allen, who hosted the event last year and whose Lil Box of Tricks bar fetched a staggering £100,000.

The fete promises to be a true celebration fashion, food, entertainment and one of the finest beverages out there.

Tickets to the event are available to purchase on 020 7603 996. 100% of the ticket price is donated to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
