With the top spot at Christian Dior still up for grabs and both Raf Simons and Stefano Pilati leaving their respective positions, rumours have been rife as to which designers will go where but Yves Saint Laurent has taken their pick and revealed that Hedi Slimane will head up the luxe label as Creative Director.
Taking the Yves Saint Laurent reins from Stefano Pilati, who took his final bow for the brand at Paris Fashion Week on Sunday, Hedi Slimane returns to the fashion house having been Artistic Director of Menswear until 2000.
YSL’s Chief Executive Officer, Paul Deneve, has commented: “Hedi Slimane’s exceptional talent and understanding of the spirt of Yves Saint Laurent heralds a promising new chapter in the story of the maison.
A noted photographer, too, can we expect Hedi to be in charge of house photography as well? All will be revealed!
