Over-the-knee boots are a trend that has been sneaking up on us over the last few winter seasons and this A/W the runways were awash with the thigh-high leather lovelies.
Previously most likely to be seen on either Puss in Boots or a pirate, OTKs (as they are becoming known in fashion land - over the knee is such a mouthful and fashion moves kinda fast) are an instant way to update your wardrobe for the winter season.
There's a style out there to suit every taste and type of dresser whether you're a classic gal or more fashion forward.
Stella McCartney showed skin-tight versions which were made in faux leather in keeping with the designer's strict vegetarian design values. Chloe's were slouchy and turned over at the top while Prada showed chunky tan numbers which balanced out their sky-high hemlines.
InStyle's October cover star, Jennifer Connelly, wowed us on our fashion shoot in OTKs created by Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte, left, and a clutch of stars including Kate Moss and Madonna are all devotees of the look.
If you love the style but aren't sure if you can carry off the trend our advice is to get shopping and try as may pairs as you can!
