Anything that comes out of University Arts London and has style maverick Susie Bubble sitting front row is worth having your fashion ears pricked up for, and what better way to scout new talent than at the LCF BA Graduate show at Hackney House.
Weaving their way through six foot mirrored columns to take the floor of the circus tented Hackney House the expertly (street) cast models strutted like pros to showcase over 30 budding designers' works.
Each of the designers was selected for the show by a panel of the highest fashion caliber including couture designers Boudicca. The creativity that flowed through the one hour show was infectious; from acid coloured menswear and pom pom shoes to rich brocade and brilliant perspex visors, the diversity was awe-inspiring and kept the audience intrigued to the end.
Stand outs of the night were the extremely deserving winners of the Fashion Innovation award: Rose Irwin, Diana Auria Harris and Lili Colley whose geometric brights wowed, plus the electric plastic visors were a genius and fashion-forward addition to the looks. And Lucy Starling's brilliantly demure peaches and cream knitwear contrasted with Mary Binding's tangerine PVC jacket was a real hit.
LCF's class of 2012 are more than ready to make a splash in the fashion word - watch this space!
