Luxe Italian fashion house Gucci has teamed up with The Green Carpet Challenge and the National Wildlife Federation on a line of ethically-produced Amazon leather handbags.
Launched today in Paris, on the penultimate day of Paris Fashion Week, each of the three style of bags come with individual passports that allows the leather to be traced and certified.
Gucci creative director Frida Giannini has said of the collaboration: “I believe that today more than ever before, customers want to be associated with brands that are thoughtful and responsible.”
Adding: “This project with the Green Carpet Challenge was conceived to show how we can be proactive on environmental issues, by raising awareness and demonstrating action on the subject of deforestation.
