Last night saw Graduate Fashion Week's prestigious River Island Gold Award go to Myrto Samou of Rochester University. The designer, who presented a stellar collection packed with modern, asymmetric dresses and cut-away gowns, was awarded the £20,000 prize by Matthew Williamson, Giles Deacon and River Island CEO, Richard Bradbury CBE before a star-studded crowd that included Claudia Schiffer, Amber Le Bon, Erin O'Connor and British Fashion Council Chairman Harold Tillman.

The other big winners of the night were:

Fashion Innovation Winner: Nicola Morgan, Northumbria University Fashion

Mulberry Accessories Winner: Verity Pemberton, Winchester School of Art
Per AQUUM Creative Marketing Winner: Christina Duggan, Northumbria University Fashion Marketing
Jon Adam Fashion Portfolio Winner: Dulcie Dryden, Northumbria University Fashion
First Word Journalism Winner: Yuka Maeno, UCA Epsom
Pringle of Scotland Visionary Knitwear Winner: Sarah Burton, Manchester Metropolitan University
Zandra Rhodes Catwalk Textiles Winner: Charlotte Simpson, Northumbria University Fashion
Menswear Winner: Mehmet Ali, Ravensbourne College of Design
