Eric and Patrick were introduced by mutual pal Elizabeth Hurley, and their joint venture will feature glossy black floors, disco-inspired walls and Patrick’s mum’s own-recipe Nanaimo Bars – coconut chocolate biscuits sandwiched with custard vanilla butter cream and coated in melted dark chocolate.
Cake Boy will certainly be busy this autumn – he’s created a fragrance-inspired afternoon tea for Harrods to be enjoyed alongside The Perfume Diaries exhibition (curated by perfumier Roja Dove; 2 September - 2 October; visit Harrods.com for info). Desserts include the Shot St Honoré, left – vanilla cream, meringue, raspberries, lychees, rose petal mousse and a “pipette” of lemongrass and coconut to drench. Yum!
