How did your collaboration with Evans come about?
A friend (who's kids were at school with mine) asked me. I was interested in the challenges the project presented, and I was interested intrying a diffusion range in the same way clothing designers have been doing.
What's your favourite piece from the collection?
I like them all. I never have favourites.
What's your favourite part of the design process?
Every bit, from start to finish. It's a thrilling roller-coaster and you never know how it'll turn out 'til the very end.
Some of your designs have become really iconic, how does it feel seeing women wearing them?
I rarely do! I must be jewellery-blind or something. But when I do see someone I get a bit panicky and never know whether I should say something. And of course I feel completely flattered that someone gets what I'm doing and has chosen to wear it.
Why is nature such an inspiration for you?
I'm not much of an abstractionalist (I think I just made that wordup); I do love abstract work but I guess I'm stuck with doing figurative stuff. Nature has it all. There's nothing I want to explore that you can't find in nature; love, death, sex. All the big stuff.
Are there any celebrities you'd love to see wearing your jewellery?
Hmm. Not really. We're all about real people. They are the ones that matter. But if they asked me to do a Bond movie I'd love it!
