As part of its Fendi For Fountains initiative, the Italian fashion label is offering a little TLC for the city's water attractions, by restoring five of them, starting with the famous Trevi Fountain.

Chief executive, Pietro Beccari comments: "We are proud of being tied to the city, but I believe not everyone knows, and this is a great occasion to do something for the city that hosts us. Rome is a home of Made in Italy. There's an incredible savoir faire, but as well it's a source of inspiration for many."

The project will last four years and is expected to culminate in a fashion show to mark the 90th anniversary of the brand.
