With the Oscars just a month away, the time has come for the world’s finest fashion houses to parade their most stunning gowns before a star-studded audience.
The likes of Olivia Wilde, Sophia Lauren and Amber Le Bon were seated in the front row as Giorgio Armani unveiled his gorgeous jewel-hued collection in Paris yesterday. We expect these gowns, some fluid and encrusted with crystals (bottom, left), others sculptural and iridescent, to be popular with the A-List – Armani’s designs were the most worn on the Golden Globes red carpet, with Anne Hathaway and Megan Fox leading the best-dressed parade.
Meanwhile, John Galliano’s Forties-esque confections for Dior (top, left) were inspired by the illustrations of Rene Gruau and boasted womanly nipped-in waists and uber-flouncy New Look skirts that would look divine on wasp-waisted beauties like Scarlett Johansson and Christina Hendricks.
Set to grace Chanel’s front row this morning are Kirsten Dunst and Dianne Kruger. We’re dying to see which fashion house will clock up the most red carpet credits at the upcoming Academy Awards. Watch this space!
