More Proof Heels Are The Absolute Worst...

Meghan Trainor is all of us…

We don’t need any more reason to hate on heels. We know they have benefits (apparently), but give us a Birkenstock any day.

Obviously people falling over always garners some LOLS, we’re not even sure why it’s funny… But Meghan Trainor sort of won with her uber-stack on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. She finished the song, turned for a sassy finishing pose and POW over she goes. But — kudos — she deals with it the perfect way, committing to the fall and laying flat on her back.

Jimmy does the gentlemanly thing and joins her down there — roping in a friend that makes it O-K is one of the few ways to deal with falling over.

Dealing with a major fall is not easy — there are no hard and fast rules, you have to judge the scenario, but…

  1. Act OK – just being casj about it and getting on with life is the simplest thing to do but there’s something to be said for really going for it. Even Megan levels of flat-out do enough to quash the lols, if that’s what you’re aiming for, though odds are they’ll come when they realise you’re ok.
  2. Acknowledge it – this is a MUST. You can’t just pretend it never happened, as much as you’d like to. It looks ridiculous.
  3. Laugh (optional) – if you’re on your own you risk looking a bit bonkers or drunk, but it makes light of the awks scenario and might make you feel a bit better.
  4. Think of how funny the story will be – though it doesn’t feel great at the time, your friends will appreciate the anecdote for all time.
  5. Be with a friend – you can’t control this, but it’s undeniably easier to deal with.
  6. Don’t wear heels – do you NEED to make it more likely?!

It's been a week for hating on heels — that poor waitress's feet?! (Waitress problems doesn't even cut it.) The woman sent home for wearing flats?!? (In our opinion, you can even wear TRAINERS to work) Here are more reasons to wear flats (always)...

As well as not falling, here are more reasons to feel smug about wearing flat shoes...
