After a day spent pounding the pavements of Knightsbridge, snapping up the hot new a/w looks in style meccas Harvey Nichols and Harrods, whisk yourself off to the hotel and treat yourself and a friend to a delicious couture tea.
The Berkeley’s pastry chefs took their inspiration direct from London Fashion Week’s a/w catwalk – and it shows!
Served in the sublime Caramel Room, the delectable delights on offer include a yummy cinnamon and caramel biscuit fashioned into a mini Burberry trench, a Christian Lacroix Valrhona chocolate bonbon in this season’s must-have metallics and a Roger Vivier thigh-high biscuit boot with red and black icing.
As you nibble on your sweet treat, sip on the perfect cup of tea from bespoke Paul Smith bone china or enjoy a glass of Laurent-Perrier champers from a Baccarat crystal flute. Then all you need do is drool over your purchases and work out how you’re going to debut them. Sheer fashion heaven!
Prêt-à-Portea is served from 1pm-6pm daily and costs £35 per person, or £43 with a glass of Laurent-Perrier champagne; £49 with a glass of couture champagne. Call 020 7235 6000 to make a reservation; or visit the-berkeley.co.uk
