After celebrating 40 years of her iconic wrap dress with a celeb-studded catwalk show this week, Diane von Furstenberg is making sure her brand continues to remain contemporary with the appointment of a new artistic director.
Former creative director of Bally, Michael Herz is the man that has been hired to join the Von Furstenberg team in this newly-created role. He will work closely with the designer herself, and will be responsible for overseeing the promotion and design of all aspects of the label – from ready-to-wear to how the stores look.
Herz's appointment follows his time working with Diane von Furstenberg as a curator for her recent exhibition, Journey of a Dress, in Los Angeles.
Speaking to WWD about his new role, Herz said: 'I look forward to working closely with Diane and the team to continue to build a formidable ready-to-wear and accessories portfolio that is renowned all over the world.'
And we look forward to seeing what Michael has to bring to the label...
