Cushnie et Ochs are the A-list label you don't know you love yet
Cushnie et Ochs are the reigning queens of red carpet bodycon, worn by everyone from InStyle cover girl Emily Ratajkowski to Blake Lively, Gigi Hadid and Rihanna. Both Gwyneth Paltrow and Rosie Huntington-Whitely were snapped in their skin-tight designs at European Music Awards last weekend. The design duo have hugged the curves of countless A-list celebrities, but what are they actually all about? Let’s break it down…
Cushnie et Ochs are Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs. The label started out in 2008 after the pair met at US design school Parsons, and the rest is history. Seven years later, their sexy styles are stocked in high-end department stores all over the world (head to Net-a-Porter for your fix wherever you are), as well a staple on red carpet best dressed lists. A dress is roughly betwen £1,000 and £1,500, so while they might not be your go-to brand for a Friday night, Cushnie et Ochs could work for a very, very special occasion.
Their style signatures are clean, simple bodycon silhouettes, complete with sexy splits, cut-outs and keyholes. Cusnie et Ochs might be classy, but they know how to flatter a woman’s shape. Just ask Kim Kardashian, Selena Gomez and Megan Fox, who are all big fans of the label.
If you’re looking for something with legs, Cushnie et Ochs have you covered. Their jumpsuits are the perfect slimline shape to keep your bum looking pert, not planet-like, and are so popular that they’re turning up at A-list parties everywhere. Just last month, Diane Kruger, Emily Ratajkowski and American presenter Erin Andrews all rocked up in the same cut-out jumpsuit at three separate events, and while that style might be a tad expensive at £1,135 (shop it here at Net-a-Porter). Black and white are always classic, but Cushnie et Ochs aren’t afraid of colour. We loved Blake Lively’s bubblegum pink outfit, Rosie Huntington Whitely looked gorgeous in red and that orange dress was worn by pretty much every A-lister around one earlier this year. If you’re not brave enough for teal velvet, there’s some graphic monochrome, too.
With a different celeb sporting Cushnie et Ochs every week, it looks like this label isn’t going anywhere soon. Now all we need is a wedding to attend…
