London’s finest hotels are beginning to deck the halls, starting with Claridge’s Dior collaboration on a very fashionable Christmas tree
Claridge’s is a little drop of Art Deco loveliness in Mayfair and it’s just going to get lovelier during advent, when the hotel’s Christmas tree will be unveiled – as decorated by Dior designer John Galliano himself.
We’ve had a sneak peek at the tree’s pan-Asian design, featuring turquoise, silver and crystal sparkling leaves and orchids. It’s the first time in the hotel’s 112-year history that it’s teamed up with a fashion designer on its tree.
Claridge’s general manager Philippe Leboeuf says, “We are very excited to be working on this project with the legendary John Galliano. Both Claridge’s and Dior are synonymous with impeccable heritage, inherent glamour and contemporary thinking”.
While you’re there soaking up the fashion marvelosity of a Dior tree, why not put your heels up with Claridge’s Festive Champagne Afternoon Tea?
Tea includes finger sandwiches, a glass of champagne, apple and raison scones, tea or coffee and a selection of Christmas pastries (£45-£55 per person) and on all Saturdays and Sundays before Christmas, carols will be performed by the Southend Boys Choir.
John Galliano for Dior Christmas tree will be unveiled at Claridge’s on 1 December. Festive Champagne Afternoon Tea is available from 21 November 2009 to 3 January 2010
