Christopher Kane has announced plans to open his first store on London’s prestigious Mount Street.
The British designer revealed his plans off the back of his Spring Summer 2014 catwalk show at London Fashion Week yesterday.
A flagship store was top priority when the brand received investment from French company Kering earlier this year, and it didn’t take long to get the wheels in motion.
“This is an incredibly exciting time for us,” said Christopher and Tammy, his sister, who works as deputy creative director of the brand.
“To have our own retail space gives us the chance to showcase our collections and to really express our vision. To open in London first was really important to us as this is where our label was born.”
Christopher Kane will open his Mayfair store next year, setting up shop opposite shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood. Now there’s a shopping spree we’re keen to get involved in. JB
