That Taylor Swift has been making grand statements again, and this time, we think she's got a point.
Festival season has officially kicked off, and as usual, Coachella 2016 is setting the style bar for all us festi-babes to follow in the coming months - only this time, Tay-Tay has waded in on the fash' predictions, and well, she's pretty much shot down one of our standard festival essentials...
Yep, according to the Tayster, festival flower crowns are OUT - chokers (and choker necklaces) are IN. And come on, if Taylor Swift is saying that, then it must be true.
Taking to Instagram over the weekend, Coachella queen Taylor posted a snap of her posse styled up and festi-ready, and true enough, there wasn't a flower crown in sight.
So, is this just Taylor calling out the trusty flower crown? Or is there some method to her madness?
Well, it's true that the more fashion-led A-list have been flirting with the choker trend for a while now. Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner have been papped wearing the necklaces, and and while many of us remember chokers from the '90s (Drew Barrymore was a massive fan, preach), with the current decade revival, there's never been a better time to shop the trend.
Check out some of our favourite choker styles...then add them to that festival wishlist.
The embellished choker
Style maven Kendall Jenner rocked some serious neckwear at Coachella, and while this heavily beaded beauty might not scream practicality, it certainly makes an impact. We anticipate seeing a lot of these embellished styles at boutique festivals throughout the summer. River Island have some fantastic ornate pieces, and the price tag means that you won't feel bad about wearing it in a muddy field. Happy days.
The classic skinny choker
Both Chloë Grace Moretz and Suki Waterhouse are fans of this simple choker. It's subtle, yet ridiculously cool. Plus, you can totally fashion your own out of some spare ribbon. Stylish AND crafty? We're sold. If not, Topshop have some great ones.
The 'tattoo' choker
The original '90s throwback accessory, these chokers will set you back a couple of bucks at the very most and look awesome layered up with other chunky jewellery. They were EVERYWHERE at Coachella. Get involved...
The leather choker
Essential for all those edgy girls out there, the leather choker (a la Janelle Monae at Coachella) is the perfect way to bring instant festival game. Wear with your favourite band tee and denim cut-offs.
The scarf choker
Working like a classier alternative, the scarf choker can work many, many ways. It can work as both a neck accessory and as a hair tie - great to keep those wild festival tresses at bay!
Okay Tay-Tay. We agree. Let's get our chokers on...
