The exhibition has been inspired by a coffee table book, created by Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld, which compiles photographs of models, designers and actresses all wearing the Chanel jacket in their own way.
Starting in Tokyo and moving on to New York, Taipei and Hong Kong, us Brits are now lucky enough to be hosting the display of 113 photographs. It fatures snaps by Karl himself, of fashionable friends of Chanel, including Sarah Jessica Parker, the Fanning sisters and Lily Allen.
The photographs will highlight the versatility and timelessness of the tweed jacket, with subjects donning them in unique and innovative ways to suit their own individual style.
To coincide with the display, Chanel’s Bond Street, Sloane Square and Brompton Cross stores will devote their window displays to little black jackets from recent collections.
We’re out the door, already!
