Selfridges

Bet you never knew that InStyle had a twin? Our 100th issue, featuring the gorgeous Salma Hayek, hits newsstands today and also turning 100 is top London emporium Selfridges. The chic store begins celebrating tomorrow and, in addition to special birthday products (in signature Pantone 109 yellow, natch), you can also pick up a designer bag at no extra cost at any Selfridges store throughout May.

Big Brit design names Stella McCartney, Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith and Giles Deacon (describing the collab as “super-exciting”) have all lent their considerable talents to customising the classic swing-y Selfridges shopper. Simply shop til you drop, and have your purchases packed up in a limited-edition bag - bound to become collector’s items. “I thought, ‘If I ever got to 100, I’d want something juicy as a reward,’” said Ms McCartney of her pineapple-adorned number.

You could just spend pence a lil’ something to get your designer carrier, but we’ve got our eye on some of the centenary products: limited-ed yellow Converse, £75; Giuseppe Zanotti platform heels, £585; or a special edition trendy Moleskine notebook, £15.99. Elsewhere celebrations abound: enjoy Gay Bingo with Jonny Woo; watch’n’listen to catwalk shows with superstar DJ Henry Holland; and dance to acts such as ultra-cool VV Brown on Music Fridays.
