If, like us, you're totally obsessed with all of the Christmas adverts that have landed on our telly's over the last few days then Burberry's very chic festive film won't have slipped your attention.
It may have starred the adorable Romeo Beckham but the question on every fashion girl's lips after seeing the stunning video for the first time was: 'Who is that gorgeous girl in the stunning dress?!'
Well, question answered...
Meet Hannah Dodd; the model, performing arts student and the former face off fav high-street haunts Primark and Monsoon. Born a stones throw away from London, this Essex girl is set to follow in the other Burberry It girls Cara Delevingne, Suki Waterhouse and, dare we say, Kate Moss after impressing pretty well all of the fashion industry with her prolific role in the luxe ad.
We caught up with the rising star to chat all things fashion, her major princess moment and what it was really like to work with a Beckham. Just in time, too; soon, this lady won't have a spare 5 minutes to grab a coffee in her diary...
Hey Hannah; congratulations on your Burberry campaign! How does it feel to have been chosen by the brand?
Thank you! It feels really amazing though pretty surreal; I'm still pinching myself.
You’ve modelled for the high-street in the past; does the work change when you make the leap to designer?
Burberry was very different to anything I've done before because of the scale of it that I also got to dance but everyone was still so nice and welcoming, so it didn't feel like that much of a change in that respect.
You got to rub shoulders with Romeo Beckham during filming; what was he like to have around?
He was really lovely and professional. He made the shoot a real pleasure to be on.
Let's talk about THAT Burberry tulle dress you wore during the campaign; was it a real fairytale moment stepping into it?
Definitely! I felt like a princess; it was absolutely gorgeous and it's so rare that you get to wear something of that grandeur. It was a very special moment.
As a full-time student, it must be so difficult juggling your aspiring modelling career with your education. Do you have any tips to other girls starting out in the same position?
It is hard, I'm not going to lie, but I think the best thing to do is just be honest with both sides about what it is you're doing and accept you can't be in two places at once. Sometimes you've got to make a hard decision between the two, but I'm lucky to have support at both ends of the situation.
How did you hear that you'd scored the job? And how did you celebrate?
I got told by my agent at Select Model Management after a few days of the initial casting and first rehearsals. I was so excited, but we went straight into more rehearsals and filming so it was all very fast. I kind of had to put any celebrating on hold because of that, but the entire cast got to celebrate as a group at the amazing launch last week. which was lovely.
Has it sunk in that you're following in the footsteps of Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne? You've got to admit, that's pretty amazing company to be in…
No, it really hasn’t sunk in at all; I don't know if it ever will to be honest. They're so iconic, it's definitely a very flattering club to be a part of.
What's next for Hannah? Can we expect to see you in any other campaigns?
We will see — I certainly hope so. It's hard to tell because these things usually happen pretty close to the wire so as soon as I know, you'll know...
The ad is all about the spirit of giving at Christmas; what's the best present you've ever been given?
Hmm; that's so tough. My sister made me a customised calendar once with different photos of us for each month fixed into place, which I loved and still have despite it being very out of date now! It's the personal gifts that really stick with you after all the festivities.
So, what have you got planned for 2015? Anything you can tell us?
I'm currently studying my degree so I'll be doing a lot of training for that, but I'm equally eager to see what happens with modelling. Being a part of Burberry's stunning advert was literally a dream come true for me and I can't wait to see what it throws my way next. That's the beauty of my job; you never know what's around the corner. And that's pretty exciting...
