Christopher Bailey has more reason to celebrate as he's enrolled into fashion Hall of Fame
Congratulations are in order for Burberry’s Christopher Bailey after he was awarded the Hall of Fame accolade at last night’s WGSN Global Fashion Awards.
The Yorkshire-born designer was honoured with the prestigious title at the London ceremony inside the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Fashion’s finest turned out for the glamorous bash, which also saw Erdem, Nicholas Kirkwood, Oliver Spencer and Acne make the winners list. But it was Christopher Bailey who really stole the show, as he continued his successfully year with another impressive title.
As well as wowing the style pack at London Fashion Week, the much-loved designer recently announced his appointment as CEO at the British fashion house. Replacing his longtime colleague, Angela Ahrendts, who made a surprising move to Apple, Christopher continues to juggle his previous position as chief creative officer at Burberry.
Previous winners of the respected Hall of Fame award have included photographer Rankin and Biba founder Barbara Hulanicki.
Meanwhile Topshop also celebrated success at the annual industry awards, scooping the gong for Best Multi-Channel Retailer.
Amber Le Bon and Emilia Fox were also among guests to attend the event, donning their best red carpet frocks alongside host Cat Deeley.
Expect Burberry’s legion of star-studded campaign faces to be first to congratulate the designer, including Cara Delevingne, Sienna Miller, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Victoria Beckham’s son, Romeo.
We couldn’t have picked a more deserving winner, well done Christopher!
