My, my, things are looking up for our very own capital of cool - Burberry have just announced that they'll be showing their high-fashion Prorsum collection at London Fashion Week this September, to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of LFW.
The label - whose dresses have adorned every A-lister you can think of, from Kate Hudson to Agyness Deyn and Emma Watson - normally struts its stuff in Milan but jumped at the chance to embrace the company's British roots.
"We are so excited to be showing during London Fashion Week and particularly to be part of its historic 25th anniversary," creative director Christopher Bailey said. "We are incredibly proud of our Britishness and this is really a wonderful opportunity to celebrate that in our home city."
The show will close the collections on September 22nd, which are shaping up to be a real festival of fabulousness. Aside from the 25th birthday celebrations, the official show venue will be in a gorgeous new location at Somerset House.
London Fashion Week normally provides us with a blissful dress-down op between the high-octane NY/Paris/Milan schedules but not this season, oh no - goodbye boyfriend jeans and flats, hello 6" Alaia heels and Balmain shoulders...We'd better get shopping.
