London Fashion Week designer Mark Fast is on the shortlist for the French Andam Foundation’s coveted €220,000 annual prize – a distinction previously won by stars including Giles Deacon and Gareth Pugh.
Such an award can change a small label's fortunes, allowing cult designers to take their label on to the world stage.

The nominations for this year’s prize were chosen by an expert panel including Carine Roitfeld, Jefferson Hack, a representative from LVMH (which owns Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Givenchy, Celine, Donna Karan… phew!) and Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz.
Mark Fast is joined on the shortlist by Francesco Scognamiglio, Alexandre Vauthier (you might not know the name, but you'll recognise his long-sleeved, slash-fronted green jumpsuit worn by Rihanna), Bouchra Jarrar, Calla Haynes and Hakaan Yildirim (whose London show in February featured Lara Stone on the catwalk and Kate Moss in the front row).
The winner will be announced on 28 June… watch this space.
