Brit Awards 2016: Our Review of THOSE Dresses

Whilst Adele may be nursing the hangover of a lifetime it’s time for our Shopping Editor, Josh Newis-Smith to review the winners and losers from the Brit Awards red carpet 2016…

Adele: The High Priestess
It seems fitting that on the night Adele cemented herself as THE High Priestess of British Music that she dressed accordingly. I am sure the Pope will be taking style notes for his next Sunday Mass. Amen Adele.

Cheryl: Throwback Thursday
Anyone remember the Girls Aloud number 5 smash, I Can’t Speak French? Well in the spirit of all things Throwback Thursday, Cheryl seems to have hankered back to her days of synchronized dance routines and throwing shade at Nadine. We love it when a star delves into their wardrobe and brings back a classic video look-resourceful, much? Chezza is certainly letting the funky music doing the talking here.

Rihanna: Paris Hilton Prom Vibez
This is part 80’s prom, part early noughties Paris Hilton and therefore all the more enjoyable because of it. I am sure Joan Collins would do ANYTHING to get hold of this dress, possibly even resorting to old school bitch slapping. Needs must Joan, needs must! To sum up this Ri-Ri look, this is sass on toast.

Karlie Kloss: The Red Carpet Role Model
You can ALWAYS rely on Karlie Kloss to absolutely slam-dunk it! Wearing the snazziest of Alexander McQueen looks, Karlie goes to show you CAN wear a dress over trousers and look like the sassiest gal on the planet rather than try hard fashion victim. Whether or not us mere mortals can pull off such a look it remains to be seen. I wouldn’t advice trying this at home.

James Bay: The Man of The Moment
I just want to take this moment to send a personal message to James Bay: I love you and please marry me? Imagine a life of sitting round the campfire listening to Justin Beiber singing and James playing the guitar… I promise to provide the marsh mellows James! Shifting back to a more professional approach now, no man on the planet wears a fedora in such an effortless manner. Highly commendable given that this look could easily slip into something I usually class as, ‘East London Desperado.’ Here James is babing in the sleekest of suits and a Raymond Weil watch.
