Blake Lively at The Age Of Adaline premiere

Blake Lively has made her first major red carpet appearance since giving birth to she and husband Ryan Reynolds' first — a daughter they named James — back in December and yep, she looked an absolute knock-out.

The 27-year-old actress has been super-busy promoting her new film The Age of Adaline with a seemingly endless array of press conferences and junkets but last night saw her get glammed up once again for the movie's star-studded premiere. After spending months doting on her little one, who can blame her for making the most of the evening by rocking one of the most statement dresses we've seen since awards season? After all, ostrich feathers aren't exactly practical attire for when you're nursing a baba...

As she stepped out of her car to make her way into the venue, the paps went into a flashbulb frenzy when they caught a glimpse of the starlet's OTT ensemble. Rocking a scarlet Monique Lhuillier feather skirted and lace layered bodice dress complete with sexy leather edging, Blake looked every inch a modern day pin-up. Oh, and can we just take a moment to appreciate THAT Judith Leiber koi fish clutch?! Brilliant...

With her hair styled in her signature polished waves and her make-up consisting of a perfect cat-eye flick and a coral hued pout, her beauty look is everything we've come to know and love from Blake — elegant but understated, gorgeous without looking try-hard. And that's not an easy combination to get right.

Now, after having looked at her dress for a moment, you're probably comparing it to a well-known and much-loved emoji. Yep, we're talking about the salsa dancer, and before you start writing a tweet that points out she and Blake's similarities, the A-lister has already beat you to it!

Taking to her Instagram account before arriving at the glittering premiere, Blake shared this behind-the-scenes snap of her look with her fans which she hilariously captioned: 'Workin Emoji Chic. It's the new thing. Watch out Norm Core'.

However, she's not the only one to have sought inspiration from the red dress clad emoji. In fact, the dancer's grip on fashion today spreads farther than you think...

Catherine Zeta Jones [unintentionally] channelled the emoji at the Golden Globes thanks to her ruffled Angel Sanchez bandeau dress, with her similarities to the cartoon being one of the most talked about and memed moments of the night.

Leandra Medine of Man Repeller fame is one of the most stylish women in the fashion industry but she too fell for the allure of the salsa dancer when she sported this look to a swanky black tie event.

Ever the joker, Leandra managed to poke fun at her attire just like Blake by captioning her shot: 'Those are pants, so, is it just me or is this exactly what @hillaryclinton would wear if she were the salsa dancing emoji? by @bfa_nyc, outfit by@maiyet'.

So next time you send the salsa dancer emoji to your friends, you may want to take a moment to appreciate its style prowess. These girls certainly did...
