Granted, when it comes to festivals Bestival is not as notorious for landslides as Glastonbury - but I for one shan't be taking any chances. The muddy memories from Bestival 2008 are still matted deeply in my mind, while the vintage knee-high boots, fringed Zara satchel and beloved Gap parka I left behind... Well, let's just not talk about that (sob!).
So this year it's all about disposable style - looking good on the mega cheap, safe in the knowledge that if I am required to leave behind any of my festival attire it will be with a care-free attitude. And, that is where Primark comes in my fashion friends.
With an A/W collection fit to rival any hip high street store, there's never been a better time to embrace Primark's catwalk copies at insanely low prices. Take their over-the-knee riding boots for example; born at Gucci, copied and retailed at Russell and Bromley around the £200 price point, now on the jolly shelves of Pri-marni for £25! Yes, you heard correctly.
So after bagging myself a pair of the Gucci look-a-likes, which I shall sporting over indigo treggings I headed straight to the waterproof mac section. Arr, a little leopard print number for £19 - didn't Alexa Chung and Kate Moss live in leopard print jackets last season? Yes, I believe they did. This shopping trip was going well.
So away I walked with over-the-knee boots, check. Stylish waterproof Mac, check. Gloves for a pound, check, and one sequinned party shift, check. Oh, and let's not forget one till receipt for under £70, check. So, come wind rain or shine I'll be looking fabulously fashionable while dancing to the likes of Lily Allen and good old Florence Welch. Roll on Friday!
