There's nothing we love more at InStyle HQ than an amazing designer/high-street collaboration, and the next one pencilled in our diaries has to be one of the most hotly-anticipated yet.
Of course, we're talking about H&M, the undisputed kingpin of the designer collabs. The label has had so many brilliant, sell-out ranges over the past few years that we can barely keep track. And it's not been done by halves either.
Most recently, you may recall its pairings with Marni, Alexander Wang and Versace respectively; all of which resulted in hardcore fans camping outside its stores overnight to get their hands on the exclusive pieces. However, its latest hook-up has to be one of its most exciting ever!
Cast your minds back to the Billboard Awards in May, where Balmain’s creative director Olivier Rousteing - who has basically become a BFF to every A-lister - made the exciting announcement that he was set to be the next designer to join forces with the high street Mecca.
Arriving at the awards with two members of his Balmain Army – Kendall Jenner and Jourdan Dunn – on his arm, Rousteing gave us our first look at what as to come, as both girls were decked out in pieces from the actual collection. Fast forward four months, and we’ve been dreaming about Kendall’s pearl-embroidered coat ever since…
Here’s everything we know about the Balmain X H&M collection, so far:
Now, as the on-sale date approaches, H&M has just unveiled the campaign images that accompany the collection, and it’s a very starry affair. Joining Kendall and Jourdan in the shoot is fellow It model, Gigi Hadid.
It’s easy to see from the designs that Olivier’s vision for the collection was more is definitely more. From embellished mini dresses to satin-trimmed separates, every item in the range is guaranteed to make a statement. Ideal for the party season, no?
While we’re yet to see the designs up close and personal, you can tell that a LOT of work has gone into them. And with that, comes bigger price-tags. Let’s take the dress that Gigi Hadid wore to a fashion bash during New York Fashion Week – this bad boy will set you back a cool £399.99. Better start saving…
The On-Sale Date
The collection will hit H&M stores and the label’s website on November 5th 2015. As far as the launch time is concerned, the brand never confirms when it will be ready to shop online. However, from our previous experience, we CAN tell you it’ll be early, so set your alarms.
The countdown is on…
