How North West Inspired A New Balmain Collection

How North West Inspired A New Balmain Collection

North West is undeniably one of the sassiest children we’ve EVER seen, and now it seems she’s a muse too... #nbd

Olivier Rousteing, creative director of Balmain, has Insta-announced (obvs) he’ll be designing a children’s line.

Anyone who follows Kim Kardashian (so, everyone) will have seen the pictures of North West’s teeny weeny Balmain pieces, so the notion of lots of children wearing them will make you… Jelz, in all likelihood.

The 30-year-old shared a picture of four sassy-looking children on his personal account with the caption: ‘Welcome to my Balmain Kids!’. (Move over Kendall, Joan, Alessandra & co, there’s a new Balmain army in the making...)

Speaking to Bustle, Olivier said: 'I think I first thought about designing kidswear when I dressed North’

'I had a conversation with Kim, and that was the beginning of how I really understood that the Balmain universe can also belong to kids.'

Balmain signature military aesthetic is clear in the 55-piece collection, with some styles just small versions of the adult line, and they will be made for ages 6 (cute) to 14 (can we fit in that?) for both boys and girls.

The collection, which will launch is June is pretty costly, though obviously cheaper than full-size Balmain , with prices ranging between about £145 and £4,150.

As North was the muse for the collection, it seems right to look back at her best Balmain moments…

1. Her classic blazer and tutu combo.

2. Black on black on black - including those cute little patent shoes.

3. All white ERYTHING.

Cute. Though North is our #1, we look at the most stylish celebrity children...
