The internet’s got a new jewellery crush: Aurum + Grey.
The brand, launched by London-based designer Talka Paskin this year, has already got an impressive celebrity following.
Kylie Jenner posted an Instagram of A+G’s cool letter studs back in July — spelling KYLIE, obvs — and it got two million likes.
A+G wasn’t originally known for its earrings. Talya’s inspiration for the brand was the lack of minimal bracelets for her bridesmaids when she got married.
The USP of Aurum + Grey (named after the word for ‘gold’ in Latin, for the rose gold theme in the collection, and the grey diamonds) is the ‘minimalist luxe aesthetic, simple and elegant lines […] second-skin jewellery that can be worn with everything'.
Paskin 'wanted her bracelets to be the jewellery equivalent of casual-luxe apparel. Dainty everyday styles that weren’t excessively showy, yet forever-pieces for her friends to keep and wear long after the wedding.’
Her first challenge was to find a workshop that could work with her delicate designs. In the end, she found an atelier in London which makes the jewellery from precious materials, with all pieces hand-finished with a grey rose cut diamond.
It’s a pretty inspiring story. Having launched the brand on maternity leave, it had got so much attention that six months after going back to work she left to focus on it completely.
Since launching, she’s expanded from bracelets into earrings, rings and pendants.
We want it all. But mostly these…
