Yes, you read that correctly — ASOS have collaborated with the founder of WAH Nails, Sharmadean Reid MBE, to create a Princess Diana collection.

The 17-piece capsule, which is inspired by her most iconic looks, particularly Diana’s ‘street wear’, is on sale on ASOS.

This is the first foray into fashion designing for Reid, who trained in fashion before founding WAH Nails in 2008 and opening her first salon in Dalston.

‘(We) found all these images of Princess Diana in streetwear… she always loved bomber jackets, she actually dressed quite American preppy, she even wore Harvard jumpers,’ she told Dazed.

‘I didn’t want to do [the collection] until I had an idea, and then I had just moved to West London and I felt like a real West London mum, like ‘ah I feel a bit like Princess Diana, dropping the kids off to school’ and I thought: that’s a good idea for a collection, an East London girl moving to West London.’

The collection, which comprises ready-to-wear and accessories, features pearls, varsity jackets, two-piece suits, patent, oxford stripes, bows and little black dresses.

Here are the key pieces...

Halter Neck Blazer Dress, £65, ASOS

Diana was a fan of the classic LBD.

Cable Knit Cricket Jumper, £50, ASOS

This is one knitwear trend we should bring back - just the right side of preppy.

Square Neck Mini Dress, £65, ASOS

The square neck dress is very Princess D.

Multi-Row Pearl Choker Necklace, £12, ASOS

An actual match (though we predict hers was a little more than £12).

Double Breasted Blazer, £75, ASOS (And Matching Trousers)

She always was one for timeless style.

And then there's stuff like intarsia jumpers saying 'ROYAL' and bow caps... Bit less literally Diana, no less cool.
