Now we understand how New Yorkers felt when Topshop finally went stateside, as cult US store Anthropologie – which sells everything from gorgeous dresses to quirky homewear – is opening its first-ever London store.
Anthropologie UK opens on Regent Street this Friday at 10am and we're going to be first in the queue to shop delicious blouses, girlie jewellery and dreamily romantic shoes, notebooks and dresses.
If Urban Outfitters – its sister store – is the tomboyish kid sister, sporting cool T-shirts and jeans, Anthropologie is the daydream fairy-tale of an all-grown-up big sis.
If you so want to dress like that cool girl you know who’s never set foot in the high street, but, frankly, you find shopping for vintage a total snooze (everything smells like grandma or has a suspicious stain), Anthropologie’s eclectic and unique "vintage-esque" style is for you.
A second store is set to open on the King's Road in spring 2010, plus web shopping around the same time at anthropologie.co.uk.
