Kate Moss's collection for Topshop, Elle Macpherson's lingerie line, Christy Turlington's yoga range... it seems models can do no wrong when it comes to turning their hand to creating the clothes rather than simply wearing them. Next to get in on the model-turned-designer act is Amber Valetta, who's teamed up with sportswear brand Monrow to create her own label collection.
And it turns out Amber is also recession savvy, telling WWD: "I'm not interested in making clothes that are not accessible. Sometimes it feels like it hurts when you make a big purchase, so I really believe that the more expensive things should be gems that you keep in your closet, not trends." As a result most of the range will be priced affordably with only a few of the collection "gems" priced more expensively.
The collection will comprise T-shirts, tanks, day dresses, a romper, a tailored blazer, and a smoking jacket, that will come in blue, cream, black, light grey and pale blush, with the aim of bringing stylish laid-back basics to our wardrobes.
We can't wait to see how Amber's supermodel style will transform into a clothing collection. We can only hope we'll look as good in it as we know she will!
