As well as feeling the love from Mischa Barton and Dannii Minogue, London label Almost Famous won some admirers amongst the glam-istas at Elton John's White Tie and Tiara Ball last week. (Special thanks must also go to the lovely Jake at John Frieda for the super-swanky up 'do).
In fact, Cavalli-clad Geri Halliwell was so enamoured of my Almost Famous Boho Print Maxi, left, (£210, available from mid-August), she stopped me when I was mid-interview with her and said: "Your dress is lovely. Where's it from - is it vintage?"
But, phew, I didn't have to trawl through musty rails of old clothing, gagging at the smell of mothballs. Because Fitzrovia-based Almost Famous is, er, famous for its retro-inspired clothing.
Designer Juliana Oei takes her influences from never-less-than-uber-chic icons like Audrey Hepburn, Jackie O and Coco Chanel.
For summer think 60s style crochet ruffle dresses, 70s influenced jewelled shifts and cute 70s halternecks and statement-making floral Macs to name a few of the delicious pieces on offer.
With amazing prices ranging from £50-350, I predict a riot.
