Alexa Chung does Carven tailoring for the launch of the fashion house’s SS11 collection at Barney’s in New York

Working the latest celeb trend for suits, Alexa Chung posed for photos at the launch of Carven’s SS11 collection, in tiny tailored black shorts, a contrast-collar shirt and a white dinner-jacket blazer – all from the label. Maintaining the monochrome look, she teamed her outfit with black and white striped stacked heels and injected a hint of colour with a baby blue clutch.

Standing proud with Alexa, showing off his gorgeous new collection, was Carven creative director Guillaume Henry. Formerly at Givenchy, the designer presented his third collection since re-launching the fashion house in 2009 in a meet-and-greet style appearance at Barney’s.

Carven has fast become the must-have label for fashionistas across the globe, so it was little wonder that the unveiling of the new collection from the man Net-A-Porter’s Natalie Massenet has hailed a ‘Young Yves Saint Laurent’, was one of the most anticipated new season presentations.

And with Fashion Week kicking off tomorrow in New York, we can’t wait to see what treats the Carven AW11 show will serve up in Paris Fashion Week.
