Kate Moss Turns Interior Designer (And Her First Project Is Pretty Cool)

The supermodel makes her interior design debut with a barn house in the Cotswolds...

She's designed several sell-out collections for Topshop, but now the supermodel has swapped fashion for interior design. She's teamed up with The Lakes By Yoo, a design and lifestyle brand to unveil "The Barnhouse", a five bedroom luxury home in the Cotswold lakeside retreat.

The collaboration came about through John Hitchcox, the chairman of YOO who Kate met while spending time in her own country retreat, which is also in Oxfordshire. "John  and I became friends through our love for the English countryside - and the pub! When he told me about the Barnhouse in the middle of the silver birch wood I was intrigued and then excited to become part of the design team. We have created a luxurious haven in the woods, a perfect place to escape with family and friends."

The house, set within its own secluded one acre plot of private woodland consists of five bedrooms, a double height reception space, an outdoor entertaining deck and private pool.

The interiors are said to channel 'a displaced glamour within the woods', think an earthy colour palette, floor-to-ceiling windows and glass doors that open onto the outdoor deck. The bedrooms blend old with new while many feature House of Hackney's latest collection of fabrics and wallpapers in vivid colours. Meanwhile, the open-plan kitchen that extends into the living space consists of a huge concrete island, slate counter tops, old school brass cup handles and velvet sofas. Elsewhere, there's art work by Damien Hirst, Allen Jones and Kate's own collaborations with Jake and Dinos Chapman and Chris Allen.

The house which is 90 minutes from central London is on the market from £2.5 million.
