Lemon, lavender, pistachio and strawberry sorbet. If there's one trend you won't be able to escape in spring/summer 2018 it's ice cream pastel colours. We saw them on the runways of Celine, Victoria Beckham and Preen – and now the high street is filling up with candy-coloured hues. From figure-flattering suits to cute dresses, here’s how to style the look and make it your own without looking sickly sweet.
Victoria Beckham is the ultimate style icon and, of course, she’s completely on trend with this lilac ensemble from her own collection. Lilac was a big hit on the runway and we love that she’s paired this sophisticated tailored suit with a purple shirt and pastel green court heels. If you don’t fancy splashing out on the real thing, why not try this Mango dupe?
Actress Christine Evangelista completely nails the pastel trend in this Derek Lam matching co-ord. She accentuated her slim figure by tying a matching belt around her waist, and added touches of white and grey with her accessories to match the colours of her dress. By using other colours in the outfit it adds a balance and isn’t too pastel focused – a good tip if you want something slightly subtler.
Fashion blogger Camila Coelho had everyones head turning in this ice cream pink Ralph Lauren zip through co-ord. This is a favourite flavour this season, and obviously Camila’s, as she adds a matchy-matchy pink coat. The silver accessories and subtle styling keep all eyes on her outfit. Pairing pastel with a plain block colour is a good way to wear the trend if you don’t fancy going all out with the ice cream shades.
