Intro Deck:

Yellow has had a reboot - embrace mustard, saffron and turmeric pieces for a burst of sunshine this summer

We’re stepping into spring, quite literally, like a ray of sunshine and making a big bold statement in yellow. Yes, yellow. The sunny hue is a huge trend for spring/summer 2017 and it’s about to be everywhere

I know you might need a bit of persuasion with this trend - vibrant lemon tones can be daunting, I feel you. My first worry was about skin and hair clashes (I'm blonde - not ideal) and basically looking like a bright hot mess. But with determination everyone can wear yellow. It’s all about trying on lots of different shades  to find the right one for you.

Almost every designer from the SS17 shows sent a full head-to-toe yellow look down the runway and they all remained very feminine. At Chloe and Preen it was super girly with oversized pretty sheer ruffles and broidery anglaise while Tibi and Emilio Pucci was more about the sophisticated woman with subtle pleats and clean shapes (and even a yellow leather trouser, BOLD but we love!). As always, the scale on the yellow-metre was pretty broad, ranging from muted mustards to wishy-washy sorbet.

Not keen on the catwalk-style all-yellow look? Try buying into the trend with just individual pieces. One of our high street faves, Next, have a couple of amazing mustard knits, which are a simple, easy way to update your everyday look without being too OTT. Try wearing with a tailored monochrome check trouser for a more trend-led look rather than just jeans. If this is still too much then Zara have an amazing pair of yellow boots which will suit anyone so there’s no excuse not to get involved.
