The 90s are making a major comeback this season – and so is the the Mom jean, but not quite as you know it.
We originally fell in love with them when we girl-crushed on Rachel from Friends. Personally? I was always a bit afraid of trying the style, as to me they felt unflattering and heavy. But that was until I discovered how the Mom had been redesigned for this season, in all new, chicer cuts.
The key to making them of the moment is to tuck everything in, it's the best way accentuate your waistline. For a casual look, do the half tuck. This is also great if you still feel a little self conscious in jeans.
My favourite thing about the Mom? They're super-versatile, so can be styled up from day to night, or even for the office.
Here's how to wear your comfiest jeans yet...
To The Office
If you dare to wear the Mom to work, choose a darker wash for something a little smarter. These are best paired with an amazing shirt (of which there are TONNES around at the moment), worn unbuttoned, back-to-front, tucked in or tucked out.
I love the Levi’s “Wedgie” jean, as they're super comfy for sitting at your desk in all day, and they make your bum look GREAT. Team with a smart brogue or loafer, and your all set to wow the office.

At The Weekend
Over the weekend, bigger is better - so go for a wide leg and super-high waist, or even rips and distressed denim. MiH have several amazing styles, including the Topagana and the Jeanne. Similarly, AG jeans are great for a laid back, distressed look, which is perfect teamed with a simple white tee or cropped boxy jacket.

On A Night Out
For Evening, I tend to go for a darker wash such as grey or black, but that isn’t to say blue won't work – it totally will. Topshop is a one of my firm favorites for Mom styles. They're reasonably priced, and come in pretty much every colour going.
As the Mom jean is oversized and high waisted, be sure to go for a really sassy top. This season's off the shoulder style is perfect, or if you're REALLY brave, a little midriff flash would be even better. Just make sure it’s a style that will show off your waist, and make you feel like you've dressed up.
Finish the look with a killer heel. Block heels are my favorite at the moment, as they're super-chic and mean you can dance all night, without the pain of stilettos.
