Show Barbie how it's done this season and wear pink with a little more style.
You loved it when you were five and you’ll love it again this season. Pink is back in your wardrobe for AW16. In a season where black, grey, beige and navy usually dominate, a vibrant lift from a splash of fuchsia, rose, magenta, bubblegum, blush, the list goes on, is just what's needed. There were few designers who didn't embrace even a hint of the shade. Roksanda, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, Alexander McQueen, Simone Rocha and Holly Fulton all covered their models in pink and not a single one looked out of place in the very grown up shows.
So how do you achieve this sophisticated pink look? Step one is easy: if you’re over 18 you’re not going to look like Strawberry Shortcake! Step two: choose a shade that works for you. Whether it be bright or pale, it has to work for you, you need to feel comfortable to carry off pink when all others around are monochrome.

Pale pink was the dominant shade at the shows. Simone Rocha’s fluffy pink evening coat, with a hint of sparkle, is just begging you to take it to a fantastic party. Delpozo on the other hand have tailored their lavender pink jacket into an exaggerated shoulder marvel that should be seen at all hours of the day. On the high street Monki has created the perfect puffa jacket and Topshop a colour block jumper that will make even doubters come over to the light side!

If brighter pink is your thing, A.W.A.K.E has an amazing asymmetric velvet dress perfect for the party season. For a more relaxed approach to hot pink take a trip to H&M, their oversized sweat is perfect for a little 90s athleisure. Still not convinced by pink? Then make a nod to the trend with glasses from ASOS or sunglasses from Saint Laurent.
Whether top-to-toe or just a hint, have a little fun with pink this season!
