Cruise season is the perfect excuse for the stars to jet-set between some of the world's most far-flung locations, and wear the most show-stopping designs from the new collections while they're at it. Here's the looks that got the cameras flashing off the runways...

It was to Florence that the fashion crowd flocked this weekend to see Gucci's Cruise 2018 Resort Show. With Beth Ditto performing, Jared Leto in a pink velvet frock coat and Dakota Johnson in an exquisite backless Gucci dress - this was a fashion moment noone was ever going to miss. Especially if you're on Instagram! It seems Cruise month is becoming bigger than the bi-annual collections with brands flying celebrities and the fashion press all over the globe - from Kyoto to LA to Cannes to Florence. With ever more lavish spectacles designed to create the maximum hype.

Despite it being her first big Cruise show, Dior’s new artistic director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, went all-out with her location, asking her faces and fans to trek to a Californian canyon. The show was themed around the prehistoric wall paintings in the Lascaux caves in southwestern France, and befittingly, there were tents, hot air balloons and a sunset catwalk parade.

Faces Charlize TheronDemi Moore and Rihanna, as well as Kate Bosworth and powerhouse bloggers Aimee Song and Chiara Ferragni navigated the tricky terrain decked out in the designer's popular twists on Dior classics: bar jackets, A-line skirts and H-line dresses featuring Chiuri's majestic astrology prints. Though Rihanna was a force of her own, striking a balance between fashion and practicality in a fur stole, light denims and gum boots befitting of the dusty climes. Naturally she rocked it, two belts and all.

Meanwhile, Louis Vuitton took its faithful fans to Kyoto, for a show paying homage to Japanese designer and artist Kansai Yamamoto. Michelle Williams, Sophie Turner, Jennifer Connelly, and Elvis's granddaughter Riley Keough were among the 600 guests who made their way to the iconic underground Miho Museum decked out in Autumn Winter's 17's finest. Cobalt blue suits, patchwork dresses and glittery tweed assymetric dresses were all matched with the brand's bold patent Chelsea boots - bound to become next season's It shoes.
