If a blazer was your go-to cover-up all summer long, then don't fret, its appeal is showing no signs of waning for AW17. From parties to dates and everything in-between, a blazer has become a bit of a style staple in our wardrobes and we can't wait to update it for the new season ahead.

On the runways designers threw it back to the 90s with a myriad of power suits. Featuring double breasted cuts and shoulder pads, this time they came with a 2017 modern twist in the form of longer lengths and a more fluid silhouette. Victoria Beckham, Calvin Klein, Stella McCartney and Ellery all put their spin on the trend, pairing them with silk shirts and white knits, which are ideal for office days. DKNY played with proportions, with wide shoulders, nipped waists and full length sleeves while Balenciaga also went XXL with supersized shapes. Meanwhile, Gucci played on nerd chic with brightly coloured lapel piping and floral embroidery.

Whilst, for summer we were all about flinging a blazer over a slogan tee, for colder months, we're all about teaming a more formal looking blazer with a hoodie for a play on the smart/ casual dress code. Plus, it's super cosy on days when you don't want to have a lug around a heavy coat. Elsewhere, Roksanda and Rejina Pyo's metallic versions have party season written all over them, whilst Mango's corduroy offering in a burnt orange nails two trends in one.
